The Mason College Club was founded in 1931 by Gertrude Dart O'Sullivan, M.D., Mason's first woman physician. For over 75 years we have continued the tradition inspired by Dr. O'Sullivan of providing monetary help to local young women for college. We have been fortunate in being able to adjust to students' increasing financial needs as times have change. Originally, the club provided a $100 loan to one female graduate. The first true scholarship was awarded in 1955. In 1997 we opened scholarships to include male students. Since 2007, we were able to increase our donation to several $1000 scholarships. Mason College Club is proud of its history of helping our young people, the leaders of tomorrow, and grateful for the generous community support we have received.
